Frozen Banana Treat
Servings: 4-6
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
- 2 tablespoons Gold Label Virgin Coconut oil
- 1/2 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
- 3 frozen bananas
- Toothpicks
Peel bananas first, then freeze in resealable plastic bag.
*different idea* ~keep the banana whole or 1/2 of a banana, put it on a popsicle stick and roll it in coconut before freezing
Place
a serving plate in the refrigerator or freezer to chill; this is so
pops don't melt immediately on the plate once they're made.
Put coconut oil in small saucepan and melt on low heat. Remove from heat as soon as coconut oil is completely melted.
Add chocolate chips and stir until chocolate is melted. If chocolate chips do not completely melt, return to heat for 10 seconds. Do not cook; the mixture should be barely warm to touch.
Slice
frozen bananas about 3/4 inch thick. Skewer each piece with a toothpick
and dip quickly in chocolate. Wait a few seconds for chocolate to
harden then place on the chilled plate.

Harvest Cinnamon Apples in Crockpot
Fake Stouffer's Harvest Apples
Down the Freezer Aisle of my grocery store is a little temptation that I confess I have purchased on countless occasions.
I only have one tool from the Pampered Chef, and this great apple cutter is it. I love it so much that I brought it in my suitcase when we moved to New Zealand and back!
Harvest Apples
Apples (3 Bags, 3lbs each)
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Water
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
1/2 Ground Ginger (powder spice, not fresh)
4 Tablespoons Corn Starch (for the sauce)
I had quite a few apples, so adjust your recipe accordingly for smaller amounts. I ended up using both of my crock pots, so I split the recipe in half for each crock pot.
Put the apples in your crock pot, followed by the spices, sugar and then pour the water over top to dissolve the sugar a bit. Cook on Low Heat for about 4 Hours, stirring the apples about once an hour. If you notice the apples getting too mushy, turn the heat off - you want the apples to retain their shape and texture.
When they have cooked down, turn off the heat and let them cool. Meantime, using a Siphon or Turkey Baster, remove all of the juice that has settled in the bottom of the crock pot and transfer it into a saucepan. Whisk in the Cornstarch and turn the heat to Med-High. Continue to whisk until the sauce thickens and coats your spoon.
Add the sauce back into the apples and give a gentle stir. They're ready to serve!
After the apples have cooled, you can transfer them into Marked Freezer Bags and reheat them whenever you like! Harvest Apples will stay in the freezer for up to 1 year.
Fake-It Yourself Breakdown:
Fake Harvest Apples (Apples $3.29 x 3, Pantry $0.50), Yields 14 Cups
Total Fake-It Cost: $10.37
Compare to Stouffer's Harvest Apples, 12 oz package ($3.09) 14 Cups = Approx. 9 Packages
Total Fake-It Yourself Savings: $17.44

You don't have to eat these apples as a side dish only. They could also be used in any recipe that calls for Apple Pie Filling! Enjoy!

Berry Yogurt Popsicles
Frozen yogurt popsicles made with fresh berries don't just taste great, they are good for you too! Fresh berries are some of the most powerful disease fighting foods, they are high in vitamin C and antioxidants.
I love freezing my smoothies in popsicle molds to make healthy summer snacks. I normally do just one flavor at a time but I thought it would be fun to make them into stripes. My original intention was to make these red, white and blue hoping the color of the fruit would achieve this naturally but the colors turned out more of a purple, white and pink. Still pretty and a great way to make colorful popsicles without adding food coloring.
Although the berries have a natural sweetness to them, I suggest you adjust the sugar or agave to your taste before freezing them. I bought my freezer pop maker from Progressive last year on Amazon, I am linking to it here for all of you who asked where I bought it.

Frozen Fruit Pops
Fresh fruit with a splash of juice makes a fresh and healthy snack. Use whatever fruit you're heart desires. A perfect summer treat!
These are so simple and so darn cute, my one year old probably had just as much fun playing with them as she did eating them. Super easy to make and no fancy gadgets required, you'll need small 5 oz disposable cups and some craft sticks.

- 1/3 cup diced kiwi
- 1/3 cup diced watermelon
- 1/3 cup diced strawberries
- 1/3 cup diced pineapple
- 1/4 cup fresh pineapple juice or orange juice
Combine diced fruit in a bowl and fill each 5 oz cup with fruit. Add 1 tbsp of juice and insert craft sticks into each cup. They easily stay in place because of all the fruit. Place in the freezer a few hours until firm. To remove the pops from the cups, run under warm water a few seconds. Enjoy!

Strawberry Stones For Your Garden
www.growtest.org/
Stones painted to look like berries will keep
the birds out of your berry patch.
After pecking a few of the hard painted stones,
the bird will assume that all
of the berries in the patch are hard as a rock
and will seek its food elsewhere.
THIS IS A GREAT IDEA. JUST HAD TO SHARE.
