Oil Cleanse For Your Face
Oil cleansing works for many people to clear up their acne, combat their dry skin and maintain a healthy glow. It is all-natural; no harmful chemicals. The oil will take away makeup in a flash. And after the cleansing, most don't need a pricey moisturizer! The downside of oil cleansing is that it may take your skin 1-2 weeks to adjust. You might see an increase of oily skin.
Ratios to make the cleanse
Oily skin- 1:3 (such as 1tsp.- 3tsp)
Combination skin- 1:4
Dry- 1:10
Standard- 1:3 - 1:10
Sweet Treat- 1 part hazelnut oil: 1 part sweet almond oil: 2 part avocado oil
Acne-Prone skin- 1 part borage seed oil: 2 part grapeseed oil: 1 part hazelnut oil: 1 part hemp seed oil
Benefits of each oil
Almond- softens, soothes and reconditions skin
Apricot kernel- good for dry, aging and normal skin
Avocado- rich in essential fatty acids, rich in Vitamins A, B1, B2, D, E and good for those with psoriasis and eczema
Borage seed- reduces inflammation, calms skin, promotes blood flow and good for those with eczema, acne and rosacea
Castor- astringent
Grapeseed- well absorbed, good for those with skin sensitivities because it is non-allergenic
Hazelnut- astringent and good for oily skin
Hemp seed- antioxidant, protein and mineral-rich, contains Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, D, E, high amounts of chlorophyll and good for those with eczema, psoriasis, acne and dry skin
Jojoba- good for all skin types especially acne-prone skin
*coconut oil for cleansing may clog your pores and exacerbate blackheads
Oil Cleansing
- Get a small amount of oil on your hands and massage it onto your face for 1-2 min.
- Wet a clean washcloth with hot water and place the washcloth on your face until it cools down. The steam will help pull out the impurities.
- Wipe off the excess oil.
