Glass Jars to Outdoor Lights

diy-garden-lights-cherylstyle

Why settle for ordinary outdoor lighting when you can make your own for under $15?
Our upcycled garden lights are the perfect way to turn old jars into works of art that are both beautiful and practical!
Place rubber bands of varied widths around a jar to create a design of your choice.
Have more than one idea in mind? Make several different lights and group them as a centerpiece or line them along a walkway.
Once you’ve banded your jars, apply spray paint evenly, let dry then add a second coat of paint.
When completely dry, remove the rubber bands carefully. Add aluminum craft wire for hanging on a shepherd hook or a flowerpot hook for the deck. Use real candles or battery operated tea lights.
Your unique upcycled garden lights will create a welcome ambiance to any outdoor area.

STRAWBERRY FOOTBALLS

Photo: Tonight is Packer Family Fun Nightt!!! So, in honor of "my" kick off to the football season, here is a fun recipe for you! Please, share some of your favorite football party recipes.

STRAWBERRY FOOTBALLS:
24 large fresh strawberries
8 ounces chocolate candy coating or chopped chocolate
1/4 cup white candy coating or white chocolate chips
Preparation:

1. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with waxed paper.

2. Wash the strawberries and pat them dry. Make sure they're truly dry and don't have any wet patches, otherwise you'll have trouble dipping them.

3. Melt the chocolate candy coating in the microwave, stirring after every 30 seconds until it is smooth and fluid. If you are using chopped chocolate, you should either temper it following these directions, or be prepared to keep your strawberries in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve them. Chocolate that is melted but not tempered can get soft and streaky at room temperature, so it should always be kept refrigerated.

Apple Wedges For LunchBox - School or Work Lunch Idea

Photo: Lunch Box Quick Tip: This can save you $$$
Those packages of pre-sliced apples you can buy at store are great for a healthy snack on the go but the price can add up quickly. Make your own by slicing apples, soak in cold water for 3-5 minutes, then soak in a lemon-lime carbonated soda (such as 7-up or sprite) for 3-5 minutes. Divide into snack size portions and store in Ziploc bags in the fridge. The lemon-lime soda will keep the apples from browning and make them last longer.
If you don't have one of our handy, dandy apple wedgers contact me: www.pamperedchef.biz/shannonross or message me here. You can save 25% off of the Apple Wedger until Thursday, August 30th @ noon.
Feel free to share this page with your friends that would love other quick tips in the kitchen.

• 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
• 1 cup peanut butter (your choice; crunchy or smooth)
• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 ½ cups powdered sugar (up to 2 cups if needed)
• ½ cup mini chocolate chips

3. Turn out mixture on a large sheet of waxed paper. Use your hands to form into a football shape. (This would also be cute as “lips” for Valentine’s Day!)

5. Serving suggestion: pretzels, animal crackers, cookies, a spoon.
