Energy & Healthy Smoothies For My Vitamix

Energy & Healthy Smoothies


Juice Of Day In My Vitamix 
Large container and drink during the day & into the evening

5 carrots
Bushel of Kale
4 Apples, seeded
10-15 Strawberries Frozen
2 pureed Bananas in 1/2 cup of water (freeze in paper cup or ziploc)
2 beets
4 stalks Celery tops included
2 Tomatoes

Carrots, Apples, Beets Celery into Vitamix.
Remove into Glass Pitcher.
Strawberries, Banana puree, Tomatoes into Vitamix.
Add to Glass Pitcher, mix.
I store in Fridge.
Drink 2 glasses 3x day.
Very filling.



Smoothie Pick-Me Up For my Vitamix
1 cup frozen Strawberries
1 cup frozen Blueberries
3 handfuls Kale
1 frozen Banana
1/3 if Avocado
1 Pear
1 Apple
2 inches of raw Ginger
1 whole stock Celery (top included)
Coconut Milk to taste
Water as needed
Mix in Vitamix ~ serve ~ We have for Breakfast



Berry Mix Vitamix
Strawberries frozen
Raspberries frozen
Blueberries frozen
Kale
Orange peeled ~you don't have to remove seeds
Grapefruit peeled or Grapefruit Juice
Greek Yogurt Plain
Flaxseed
I drink this for lunch all weekend long. My Vitamix loves this.

Almond Smoothie  for Vitamix
Banana frozen
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 - 1 cup Almond Soy Milk unsweetened
1 bunch Kale
1 teaspoon flaxseed

OJ Smoothie for Vitamix
1 frozen banana
1 peeled orange
handful spinach
1 stick celery with top
1 inch Ginger peeled

Here in southern California where the sun shines bright and healthy living is always on the mind, the “liquid meal” trend has totally captivated our focus. Where fitness is a huge part of our lives and for some of us, a career, green juices and smoothies are redefining foods as fuel in order to maximize athletic output.

As a yoga instructor, I am constantly chatting with students and fellow teachers about their latest and greatest juice or smoothie recipe, excitedly exclaiming “kale, berries, chia!” or some variation of that in passing between classes. Perfect as the first meal of the day, as a mid-day pick-me-up or as a post-workout recovery, juices and smoothies keep you feeling fully satisfied, yet light as a feather.

Here are some tried and true favorite recipes from our San Diego juicing community to yours:

1. Erica’s Morning Zest: Grapefruit, Ginger, Carrot and Pear

2. Jenny’s California Dreamin: Mango, Banana, Avocado, Spinach and Vanilla-flavored Almond Milk

3. Marlene’s Mega Meal: Strawberries, Blueberrries, Banana, Almond Butter, Maca, Whey Protein Powder and Avocado, blended with soy milk.

4. Nina’s Green Lemonade: Kale, Spinach, Celery, Cucumber, Lemon, Apple and for an extra zing, add Ginger

Fruit Smoothie All Natural

I OWN a Vitamix. I use it for everything ~ it even grinds my grain.

Vitamix Fruit Smoothie

1/2 red or green grapes (wash off all spray from vineyard & dry w/ paper towel)
1 orange medium, peeled, halved, seeded
1/2 inch thick slice pineapple, core included
1/4 cucumber, peeled
1 carrot, halved
1/4 medium apple, cored, seeded
2 cups ice cubes

Everything into Vitamix (or your blender type) in order listed.
Secure Lid.
Slowly increase speed to high.
Blend 1 minute making sure all ingredients are totally blended.

3 cups

    Aspartame, also known as Nutrasweet and Equal, is believed to be carcinogenic and accounts for more reports of adverse reactions than all other foods and food additives combined.
    The artificial sweetener Acesulfame-K has been linked to kidney tumors. All artificial sweeteners are bad news.
  2. High Fructose Corn Syrup

    High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) increases your LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels and contributes to the development of diabetes.
  3. Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)

    MSG is used as a flavor enhancer. It is an excitotoxin, a substance that overexcites cells to the point of damage or death.
  4. Trans Fat

    Numerous studies show that trans fat increases LDL cholesterol levels and increases your risk of heart attacks, heart disease and strokes.
  5. Common Food Dyes

    Artificial colorings may contribute to behavioral problems in children and lead to a significant reduction in IQ.
  6. Sodium Sulphite

    This is a preservative used in processed foods. People who are sulfite sensitive can experience headaches, breathing problems, and rashes. In severe cases, sulfites can actually cause death.
  7. Sodium Nitrate/Sodium Nitrite

    This common preservative has been linked to various types of cancer.
  8. BHA and BHT

    Butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydrozyttoluene (BHT) are preservatives that affect the neurological system of your brain, alter behavior and have the potential to cause cancer.
  9. Sulphur Dioxide

    Sulphur additives are toxic and in the U.S., they have been prohibited in raw fruit and vegetables. Adverse reactions include bronchial problems, low blood pressure, and anaphylactic shock.
  10. Potassium Bromate

    This additive is used to increase volume in some breads. It is known to cause cancer in animals, and even small amounts can create problems for humans.

Green Drink For Your Health

I have lost the winter weight.....and it taste GREAT.
An alternative recipe

2 handfuls of baby spinach, 
1 cup of chunk pineapple, 
2 bananas, 
1 cup of yogurt  
1 cup of filtered water. 

Blend well and enjoy!
